We’re really excited to announce that once again this year, Thatchers Cider will be sponsoring the Cambridge Folk Festival – meaning that you will be able to find Thatchers Gold in all of the bars around the site! New for 2019, Thatchers will be showcasing their latest addition to the Thatchers family: Thatchers Rosé. Using a blend of naturally sweet, rosy-red dessert apples, including Pink Lady, Fuji and Gala, Thatchers Rosé is a deliciously sparkling Somerset Cider bursting with fruity apple flavour.
Thatchers’ ciders are crafted at Myrtle Farm in Somerset, where they have over 500 acres of their own apple orchard. With skills and expertise passed down over generations, they are passionate about creating the tastiest ciders – from the orchards through to their oak vats, every step of the cidermaking journey is just as important as the next, so they can truly say, this is “what cider’s supposed to taste like”.
We had a quick chat with Martin Thatcher, the Managing Director at Thatchers. He said,
“We’re delighted to be bringing our Thatchers Cider to the Cambridge Folk Festival again this year. After all, what could be better than enjoying your favourite music with your favourite pint of cider. We can’t wait to soak up the atmosphere at this year’s Cambridge Folk Festival. We love the Festival’s values, and as a fourth generation cidermaker, heritage and family mean so much to us, and that’s something we know we share with everyone here.”
Becky Stewart, Manager of the Cambridge Folk Festival said,
“It’s such wonderful news that Thatchers Cider are once again supporting the Cambridge Folk Festival. Not only does this mean that everyone coming to the festival will be able to enjoy a great cider while relaxing and enjoying the likes of Nick Mulvey, Lucinda Williams and Graham Nash, but their support means that we can continue to thrive and bring the best folk music in the world to Cambridge.”
So make sure that you enjoy a glass of Thatchers Rosé when you visit us at the Festival this year, because great cider and great music go hand in hand!
