This February sees the Cambridge Live launch of City Roots, a brand new week-long, winter music festival and expansion of Cambridge Folk Festival.
Renowned the world over and a sell-out every year, Cambridge Folk Festival is the summer highlight for folk fans and artists alike. With an exceptional musical pedigree, the Festival’s heritage is unique, as is its reputation for launching the careers of many of today’s major artists.
Created six years ago, as a space for young audiences to see up-and-coming acts in an intimate and relaxed environment, THE DEN has proved to be one of the Festival’s most popular stages, playing host to the likes of The Staves, Passenger and Jake Bugg. And, during February’s City Roots Festival The Den will make a welcome appearance for two nights, this time in the intimate basement setting of renowned city music venue, CB2.

City Roots promises to be a musical tonic for the winter gloom: venues great and small across Cambridge, from the Corn Exchange to CB2’s basement will see a stream of talent, from the up-and-coming to internationally acclaimed stars.
