The Hub Band Project
Are you aged between 14 and 18 and into folk music? Want to be part of the Cambridge Folk Festival? You could win the chance to perform with The Hub Band Project live in the Club Tent on Sunday 31st July 2016
The Hub Band Project is a series of workshops at The Hub youth music area, where you will collaborate with other musicians and will culminate in a performance by The Hub Band on stage in the Club Tent on Sunday evening 31st July 2016. It is aimed at those into traditional music (either individuals or bands) who have already bought tickets for the Festival, plus we have a limited number of free tickets to offer.
We particularly want to hear from instrumentalists, those who love playing in sessions and have a passion for traditional songs and tunes, to take part in The Hub Band Project.
To apply for free tickets for the project you’ll need to upload 3 representative tracks to Soundcloud and send a link, together with information about yourself, including your age, by 29th April 2016 to Rebecca.stewart@cambridgelivetrust.co.uk
Don’t forget to include your contact details including address, phone number and email. You can make the Soundcloud private for our ears only if you wish.
Ticket winners will be selected according to the strength and suitability of their music by a panel including Eddie Barcan, festival programmer and acclaimed up and coming folk musician, singer and writer Rosie Hood. You will be notified by 1st June 2016 if your submission has been successful.
Under 18’s will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Weekend passes for ticket winners (including camping at Coldham’s Common) will be sent out by the first week in July.
IMPORTANT: These tickets are extremely limited. If you wish to attend the Festival and take part in The Hub Band project regardless of whether you win free tickets or not, you should buy them in the normal manner when they go on sale, before they sell out.
